| What is a KVAR unit? |

| The KVAR unit is an electromagnetic pollution control system. It reduces the amount of non-productive current in your electric system which yields you a significant reduction in energy costs. The KVAR unit will reduce demand at the meter by reducing lost and wasted power. It will reduce maintenance costs while it increases the life expectancy of all appliances, air conditioners, mixers, pumps, and other motors connected to the unit. |

What is inductive equipment?
Inductive equipment includes any heat pumps, air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, irrigation pumps, pool pumps, and all types of electric motors. When inductive equipment is connected to an alternating current system, the current signal divides with some going to actual work and the rest going to generate a magnetic field. Without the magnetic field, the motor would not work; however, this current lags behind the voltage, reducing the power factor and causing non-productive current. |

What is non-productive current?
The non-productive current in any electrical system is the current which heats up the motor in inductive equipment while it is in use. The heat generated serves no productive purpose: it is wasted energy and shortens the life of the equipment. The best way to recapture this wasted energy is with the KVAR Energy Controller. |

How does the KVAR Energy Controller work?
The KVAR unit allows the current of the collapsing magnetic field to be stored temporarily and reused at the start of the next cycle as the field is reconstructed. Off-the-shelf options approximate the amount of current that will need to be stored based on empirical data. The customized sizing option brings your specific application to unity so that no energy is wasted, causing your power meter to slow to an even greater degree. Either way, the local electrical system is fine tuned to reduce the demand through the electric utility's kWh meter. |

What is Custom Power Factor Optimization?
In order to achieve the greatest savings of both money and electricity, a customized solution is required. Representatives would visit your business's location and perform a survey of your equipment. They would require access to the electrical supply lines to all machinery, including air conditioners and other roof-mounted equipment, in order to determine the existing power factor and other aspects of the power supply. |

| After the survey is complete, you will receive a report detailing the information discovered in the survey. Based on estimates of run time and your cost per kWh that you provide, the report will also contain the amount of electricity you will save, the cost of the recommended optimization system, and the calculated return on your investment.
